The last post

January 4, 2015

That's the first time I've written the year! Happy 2015.

I started this blog in January of 2014. January 27th to be exact. I haven't quite been doing it for a year, but I've done enough. I have been grateful for everything this year, and writing it down helped me appreciate it even more. I've learned a lot about appreciating the little things, and even though I'm no longer going to continue with this blog, I will continue to appreciate everything in my life. I'm ridiculously happy with my life.

Here are a few things from my last week of 2014.

The 29th and 30th (Monday and Tuesday), I worked. I also got some new clothes! Boots and a cute new shirt. My old winter boots are starting to fall apart a little. These ones are guaranteed warmth. They're a Christmas present from Clint. We picked them out on Monday, and then had supper out. Tuesday, I wore the cute shirt and boots to work, and then we packed up for an ice fishing trip. These are also the very last pictures ever to be seen from my cell phone. I'll explain that later.

Also, even though Christmas is over, I still had to put this on my tree! Love it!

December 31, 2014

The last day of 2014, Clint and I packed up the truck and headed to Tobin Lake for a fishing trip bright and early in the morning. It was a gorgeous drive.

We arrived in time for lunch and to check in, and then headed out to do some fishing.

Pizza perogies. Something to be VERY grateful for.

Our very own ice shack!

This was my first time ice fishing.

My FIRST FISH! We didn't keep it. Also, by the end of the trip, I actually grabbed on to the fish, unhooked them, and put them back in the water. By myself!

We kept this one!

In our ice hut.

I'd also like to mention that on this day, I didn't bring my cell phone into the ice hut. I thought it was safer if it was charging in the truck. I was really smart this day. Most of the pictures posted were taken with my camera.
New Year's Eve brought love and cuddles. Best way to ring in the new year. We were asleep by 11:30. Haha. Real grown ups. We were awake again at 3:30 in the morning when the bar closed and a fight broke out. The gratitude in that situation was that my New Year was perfect compared to the people screaming and yelling outside.

January 1, 2015
On the first day of the New Year, we were up early to start fishing. Just in time for the sunrise. I did take my phone into the ice shack with me, and I was very careful!

Beautiful Blue sky. (aka, cold day).

Cool sky.

My new profile picture. Keeping warm while fishing.

We fished all day until it was dark, and got a few to keep. After supper, it was an early night so we could get up early to fish the next day.
January 2nd

I make no apologies for my love of the sky.

As always, complete gratitude for him.

Rainbow in the middle of winter.

Healthy lunch.

This is a picture Clint took with his phone, shortly after I dropped mine into the ice hole. He was nothing short of a hero, diving onto the ground to try to save my phone. I was sad. I may have shed a few tears, but also, I laughed at how crazy it was. Every time I pictured myself not paying attention, and somehow dropping the phone, I laughed. (And teared up). I am phoneless as I write this. I'm surviving.

Pure fishing class.

I was really sad, but at the end of the day, it's just a phone. I'll get another (hopefully I can afford another). The trip was so great, and so much fun. I don't regret a moment.

We had a really cool fishing experience the same day. The fish were swimming right under the ice so we could see the school of white fish, and see them grab hold of the bait. We got three in about 10 minutes. We would have had more, but I'm still working on keeping them on my hook all the way out of the hole.

 Saturday, January 3rd
No fishing. We got up and headed home.

View of the lake from the hotel.

Had to take advantage of the tiki bar.

Driving home. Clint drove. I took pictures.

Our catches!

 January 4th

Today, we took down the tree and decorations. I'm leaving a little bit of Christmas up. All the pictures we received in the mail will stay on the freezer. As sad as I am that Christmas is over, I'm really happy to have more room in the house with the tree gone.

So much to be grateful for in 2014, and I'll have even more to love in 2015. Starting with house hunting, and going from there.

I'll still be posting regularly on my blog below (erinisawriter). Thanks to anybody who has read any posts in the last year. Happy 2015!

Christmas Gratitude

Dec 29/14

Dec 22-28

Second last post, ever.

I took more pictures with my actual camera, but will probably only post the cell phone pics. Inner cat lady will come out in this post.

Dec 22
Today was full of gratitude for a great friend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HER! As you see from the old picture below, we've been friends for a long long time. That was the day after my high school graduation.

Dec 23

The trees were cool.

I got some stuff from Nanowrimo for finishing.I'll never wear the bracelet again, but I will keep it at my desk.
Free cup at work.

We also had supper with Denise and Nate. A late birthday celebration and early Merry Christmas night.

Dec 24

I worked until about 2, and then we headed home to Plenty.
Walk to work was pretty.

The drive to my parents was gorgeous.

And my sister brought her  Rolo. He makes me happy, even if he hates selfies. He used to be mine, but now she gets his love. :)

Dec 25
CHRISTMAS!
New PJs. Footsies, but twosies.

Handsome guy.

Cat love.

More cat love.

The Walking Dead board game!
Helping with supper. (My wonderful mom did most of it!)
Family picture for 2014!

Dec 26
It was a relaxing day, in which I took pictures of Rolo. Here he is sitting in my dad's chair.  He and my dad have a love/hate relationship.

Dec 27

Another relaxing day at Mom and Dad's.

All new books to read! I've finished the first.

My new favourite ornament.

Dec 28

My family loves cribbage. So do I!

My very first ornament (ever).

Sunshine for the drive home!

Home sweet Home. And one of the pictures I had made for Clint this Christmas.

Clint made me a delicious curry meal!

Here are the other pictures I had done for Clint. They turned out great! Especially the first one.

Also, I wrote 13 love notes for Clint to read this year. Cause I'm a writer in love.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. I'll post after  the New Year!
